Pentax P30N film slr

This is a blog regarding my Pentax P30N Film SLR; here I can keep records of techniques I have used, upload photos taken with the camera, and etc...

antsy-pants asked: I can't for the life of me figure out how to open the camera to put film in. First time using a film camera, bare with me.

I am sure with the time that has passed that you would have by now figured out what you’re doing, but incase not. Facing the back of the camera the top left (film winder) you will pull that up, all the way, and the back should pop open :)

Send me link to your photos taken from it yes?

Anonymous asked: IM me on Yahoo Msngr it's important. my username is deborahmeliabb121370

Wow, scam much?

Anonymous asked: Hi, I recently found my mothers old Pentax P30N And I Have no idea what film to use in it or how to open the film compartment. I'm Not quite sure how to use this camera properly. Please help!

I have not used mine in a while for memory the film winder on the left pulls up popping the back open, it tales any 35mm film colours seems dull in long exposure to me though and black and whites work better for me in my p30n.

delfinaarthouse asked: How do you upload your film photos?? Keep up the good work :)

Unfortunately i dont scan.:( instead i go in a room with no light at all and shoot long exposures straight downwards of the photos. Scanning would be easier and work better.

Anonymous asked: Hi!

I have recently started to use my mothers old P30n. I would like to try double exposure, but can't figure out how. I was wondering of you might be able to explain to me? Best regards Andrea from Sweden (deabraskamin.wordpress.com)

First of all, thank you for coming to me with a question :) makes me feel slightly helpful :)

now to business…

Under the camera to the right hand side should be a small black button used in unlocking the film turn gears when rewinding the film; to double expose a shot, you take your first shot, then hold that little black button the entire time you winde the film to the next shot; you have just cranked the shutter to be ready for release without winding the film itself… Now you can take your second shot…

Remember that the film will be getting twice the amount of light so it is smart to under expose each shot.

Try doing this without film in the camera and the back open so you see all the parts moving or not moving…

Its fun to experiment with a number of exposures, like maybe 8 exposures of a light house with the lightbeam pointing a different each exposure :D

Have fun :D

My decission…

Whilst this has been a great camera with an excellent light meter, I have decided to sell it as I am definantly a Canon man, and I cannot justify owning a number of cameras of different make…

As you can see by my photos taken with this camera I will be leaving a great piece of equipment behind, but I need to move forward and I dont have the space to keep things I wont be using…

Grey Card

So I have just learnt about grey cards, so my black and white photography will be much better from now on :D

ALSO….  I have decided to discontinue using the Pentax P30N after I bougt myself a Canon AE-1 Program… Ofcourse it is all depending on how the film comes out from the Canon AE-1 Program…

ALSO AGAIN….. I will be re-uploading the photos of the film shots… Better ones without reflections :)
